Our building experience has a vast range from installing new pre-fabricated steel buildings and masonry buildings from the ground up to additions and renovations on existing buildings spanning across commercial offices, educational, institutional, industrial, medical, restaurants, and retail. We have also done stadium renovations including bleachers, restrooms, and press boxes.
In addition, we've built many new parks and have renovated existing parks which were in need of an update or new amenities. The extent of the renovations varies from complete demolition for a different use, such as turning old swimming pools into spray parks, to simply converting them and upgrading them with a new landscape design.
Sports Lighting
Plavchak Construction is the most experienced sports lighting installer in Pennsylvania and the Mid-Atlantic region, both on small and large scales. Our completed projects includes a long list of local municipal and high school fields up to Lake Erie Speedway, Slippery Rock University's intramural fields, Highmark Stadium, the new home of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds, the University of Pittsburgh's Peterson Sports Complex, and even Penn State's Beaver Stadium.
Primarily, Plavchak Construction installs Musco Sports Lighting. Musco provided lighting for the 2012 London Olympics, many professional stadiums, and even a specially designed track lighting system for NASCAR, which prevents glare for the safety of the drivers during night races. Musco Lighting is clearly a proven, logical solution for little league up to the pros.
Plavchak Construction has completed many full Musco installations which includes drilling, pole assembly, pole setting and aiming, trenching, conduit installation, service installation, and light level testing. In addition, we also offer a subcontractor service for sports lighting and include drilling, pole setting and/or Musco equipment install only. Our experience with Musco Lighting is second to none. Sports Field Construction
Grass and Turf Fields:
Plavchak Construction has experience in constructing new baseball, football, and soccer fields as well as repairing the grades of existing fields.
By using laser and GPS guided equipment, we are able to achieve the optimal slope for drainage based on existing conditions. This helps to prevent ponding water and washout of valuable infield mix material, which results in fields that require very less maintenance and frequent repair.
Deck Hockey and Tennis Courts:
In addition to grass and turf fields, we have also built and renovated many deck hockey rinks and tennis courts.
Our deck hockey experience includes the installation of a variety of dasher board systems and playing surfaces including asphalt and multiple types of composite decking surfaces.
In addition to building new tennis courts, we have also renovated many existing courts. This includes resurfacing as well as installation of new netting and equipment.
Drilling and Crane Service
Caisson Drilling:
Plavchak Construction owns two truck mounted caisson drills, capable of drilling up to 37 feet deep and through solid bedrock. We have many augers, currently ranging in diameter from 18 to 54 inches as well as variety of specialty augers for heavy rock removal. In addition, we have steel casings to support the sidewalls when drilling through loose material.
We offer drilling service for a variety of needs such as light poles, scoreboards, foundations, and much more.
Crane Service:
Plavchak Construction owns two truck mounted boom trucks with 100 foot of reach. We offer crane service around Western Pennsylvania and into West Virginia. We are able to lift and place light poles, steel beams, equipment, and much more.
